Each year, the Toulon Provence Regatta asks a sports personality from the nautical world to sponsor its event. In 2024, two skippers, Clément GIRAUD and Mikael MERGUI, offshore racing ambassadors for the Métropole Toulon Provence Méditerranée, kicked things off. In 2025, the new MTPM Standup Paddle Foil ambassador, Erwan JAUFFROY, having just set a world record with his crossing between Toulon and Corsica, took over the baton. He was subsequently crowned Sailor of the Year 2025 at the Foiling Awards.
This year, 2026, marks the 400th anniversary of the French Navy. The Toulon Provence Regatta 2026 has, in fact, been awarded the 400th anniversary of the French Navy event status.
