The «Destinus AI Regatta», a world first in Toulon!

All the yachts participating in the TPR 2026 were out in front of the Mourillon beaches where taster sessions for water sports were being held with our partner clubs.

If you had passed by the former LA PLAGE restaurant at Anse du Lido this morning, you would have felt like you were in a real ant-hill. There was a buzz of excitement in everyone's mind. For the organisers, particularly Xavier CAUX, it was the culmination of a project launched over two years ago in partnership with the Swarm’z challenge and the company Destinus.Aerial drone manufacturer) who supported the organisation of this day. For all the competing student teams, it was a real challenge to tackle over these past few days, much like a hackathon. For some, this past night was very, very, very short. Failure and success mark this adventure, which is only a first step towards the goal of developing a «virtual tactician» for the America's Cup!

In parallel, at Anse des Pins, there were organised activities and nautical taster sessions in partnership with various sports clubs and associations who share a passion for water sports. The following joined us for this event: YCT, CMV, SNPM, Toulon Va’a and Aviron Toulonnais. We thank them for this partnership renewed each year! The public could try out these different water sports by pre-registering on our website or directly on the beach with our volunteers.

At the same time, the public on the breakwaters and beaches of Mourillon could admire all the metre boats and traditional yachts before their departure on the coastal race!

They may have been surprised by scenes where a replica of a 1871 Marseille Houari sloop and an 80s 12mJI metre boat like the Danish «KIWI MAGIC» were seen side-by-side.

Regarding today's results, for the 12mJI, the Italian KOOKABURRA 2 is still leading, closely followed by the Danish KIWI MAGIC and then the German FLICA 2.

For the 2.4mR, the unshakeable LITTLE MISS ESME remains at the top, followed by LADY BUG and then NO CAPTAIN, NO CRY.

The classic Yachts of Tradition's coastal race sees the trio RAINBOW 3, ESPAR 2 and ESTEREL crossing the finish line.

Thanks again to the photographers who followed all these wonderful yachts from our PRESSE RIBs.

Tip: The video recap of the day above highlights the classic yachts present at the 2026 edition. The view from the sky or at mast height is well worth a look!
