The DESTINUS AI REGATTA regatta was launched on Thursday, April 30th, at a press conference attended by institutional, academic, associative, and business partners! It will take place at Anse du Lido on Saturday, May 9th, at 11 am.
Among the partners present, the DGA, the City of Toulon, the SUD Region, the Department of the VAR, the TPM Metropolis, the University of Toulon, TVT, the Var School of Robotics and the company Destinus took it in turn to express their pride and their interest in participating in such a project. The idea being to work on the concept of a virtual tactician for the America's Cup.
Destinus is a European defence and aerospace company that develops scalable strike and air defence systems. The company designs and manufactures autonomous systems and critical technologies in Europe for the forces
European and allied armies. Destinus has been named on the annual list of the world's most innovative companies of 2026.
The electronic systems for the sailing boats were prepared by interns from the IUT of Toulon, a work-study student from the SeaTech engineering school, and engineers from the SWARMz challenge. The 1m sailing boats were prepared by volunteers from the co-organising association, Twelve Med Events.

UTT (University of Technology of Troyes), the student association «Davincihive», ENSEEIHT (National School of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, Hydraulics and Telecommunications), IPSA (School of Aeronautics and Space).
You will find them all on Saturday 9th May at 10 am for a press briefing, then at 11 am for the start of the regattas in the Lido cove, which will be broadcast on a big screen. At 4 pm, there will be a first prize-giving ceremony for the competing teams. It's up to you to come and support them, take up the challenge and cheer them on!
