On Thursday 27 February, we presented this year's event to the first volunteers of the Toulon Provence Regatta 2025 at the Auditorium of the Chalucet media library in Toulon.
This will be the second time Toulon has hosted a major regatta, this year featuring all the metric and universal classes. The 12 mJI in particular will be there, with a round of the 56th Coupe de France of the Yacht Club de France, the first Mediterranean leg of the 2024-2025 season, as will the 2.4 mR yachts, with a leg of their European circuit.

This year, our website has been given a facelift thanks to the work-study students in the BUT2 MMI course at the IUT in Toulon. It will make it easier for you to find the information you're looking for, whether you're a skipper, crew, volunteer or future visitor to our event.
New year, new line-up for the Toulon Provence Regatta!
As we did last year, we organised a competition to design our poster with students in the "Design training" course at the Grande Tourrache secondary school.
Once again, they rose to the challenge and came up with some beautiful and original posters to illustrate and announce the second edition of the Toulon Provence Regatta!
The prizes will be awarded at our first 2025 volunteers meeting at the end of February.
Toulon Provence Regatta 2025: new sponsorship with the DGA!
For this second edition, new partners are supporting the event and the range of classes of metric sailboats is growing, particularly among the smaller ones. Under the sponsorship of the Direction Générale de l'Armement (DGA), the 1 mJIA (one metre Artificial Intelligence gauge) and 2.7 Open IA scale model yachts will take part in regattas in the dock of Toulon's Vieux Port as well as on the beaches of the Mourillon near Fort St Louis. The aim is clear: to demonstrate the ability to design an autonomous model sailboat. Particular attention will be paid to the degree of autonomy of the sailboats to optimise the driving strategy (multiplication of sensors, AI algorithms, etc.). Once the starting line has been crossed, these small sailboats will compete fully autonomously in speed races or Match Racing. Training schools, whether or not associated with a company (or even a works council), and model ship clubs, come and take on the other competitors to try and win this innovation challenge sponsored by the DGA. At the final prize-giving ceremony for the Toulon Provence Regatta 2025, a special "Innovation" prize will be awarded to the team proposing an autonomous navigation technology judged to be the most innovative by a jury from the Direction Générale de l'Armement.

For its first edition, the Toulon Provence Regatta was limited to boats in the 12mJI Class. In 2025, the regatta will be open not only to the 12mJI but also to Classes 2.4, 5.5, 6, 8 and the 1mJI remote-controlled by Artificial Intelligence! The latter involves teams (higher education institutions, companies, works councils, private individuals, etc.) competing against each other in races involving one-metre-long model sailing boats. Once you cross the start line, you don't touch the remote controls and the Artificial Intelligence takes over until the finish. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 ... Clear start! Registration for the second edition of the Toulon Provence Regatta is now open! All owners and skippers of metric yachts in the 12 mJI, 8 mJI, 6 mJI, 5.5 mJI and 2.4 mJI classes are invited to register their boat and crew to be on the starting line on 22 May 2025. Toulon Town Council is organising its Associations Forum on Saturday 7 September from 9am to 6pm at the Palais Neptune. The Toulon Provence Regatta will be represented by the 12 MED EVENT association. The volunteers will be delighted to welcome you to their stand and show you the magnificent images of the Toulon Provence Regatta 2024! They will also be able to give you information about volunteering for the second edition from 22 to 25 May 2025.
