Here we go for 4 days of regattas and events! This morning at 10 a.m., Philippe HARTZ, the patron of the 2026 edition, cut the ribbon and officially opened the Toulon Provence Regatta Partner Village live on BFM TV. The live broadcast had started a little earlier, giving the floor first to various partner associations (AMERAMI, JEM’VAR) then to representatives of the National Navy, including Lieutenant de Vaisseau ANGLEYS, Commander of the diving support vessel ACACIA, which will be present for the next 3 days and open for public visits to celebrate the «400 years of the National Navy».
At the Partners« Village, everything is in place to welcome you for a drink, some grilled food, or delicious cookies. This promises some great convivial discussions with our other partners present. Our partner VEOLIA, the official partner of the »Sea Journeys« exhibition, is also present with its »Water Bar". Most of the maritime heritage boats have arrived at the quay, offering visitors a beautiful, colourful postcard scene.
The morning was very «school-like,» as just over 180 pupils from the Metropolis's schools strolled between the Village and the National Maritime Museum, taking part in various workshops on seamanship and signalling, and visiting both old (JLd'A) and modern (RC69 Wizard) sailing boats.
Finally, the regattas started in the afternoon, given the good weather conditions, to begin Match Racing tomorrow for the 12mJI metre boats. The 12mJI KOOKABURRA 2, 2024 world champion, has already taken the lead in the daily standings. The 2.4mR boats and traditional yachts were not to be outdone.
All the crews joined the public at 6:30 pm for the official launch evening, enlivened by sea shanties from the young people of Cours Tabarly and the Bagad of PEM Saint Mandrier.
Tip: Tomorrow, you can witness Tahitian dance demonstrations on the Village stage, performed from 2pm to 6:30pm by HEI SHOW TAMURE!
The Toulon Provence Regatta Partner Village is open from 10 am to 8 pm. Feel free to come and meet our present partners, and take a moment to enjoy a friendly atmosphere!
You can also admire all the sailing boats in the regatta from the breakwaters of the Mourillon beaches between 11 am and 4 pm.
